Applique Dog

I finished up putting together the pin cushion for the little needleturn applique piece that I started in Houston.

Houston Quilt Festival part 2

While we were at the festival Melissa taught us how to do needle turn appliqué, and Annette taught us how to add a button trim to a piece of lace using a simple crochet stitch.

Here is the result of my appliqué so far. It still needs the glue washed off (the white spots) and to be sewn up into a pincushion, but otherwise all the appliqué is done.

Houston Quilt Festival

Last weekend I met up with some friends at the Houston International Quilt Festival. I haven't got any photos of my friends, but I do have a lot of quilt photos. There were sections of quilts that we weren't allowed to take photos of (which included some I really liked), but there were still hundreds that we could photograph. I did notice that I took less and less photos the further round I got as it all just got too much - there were so many it was almost overwhelming - and more prosaically, my feet hurt so I started going faster so that I could get to the sitting down part (and lunch) lol. I think I also managed to miss some as I've seen some of my friends photos and I just don't remember those quilts at all.
