Framing

Today I picked up two of my pieces from the framers. I'm really pleased with the results. As always the colours are off in the photos - I've tried to adjust the colours, although I'm not sure I've really improved them much - so here they are.

Christmas Elf Fairy:

And Linda's Celtic Heart:

The frame on this one is actually green and gold, and the mat isn't as washed out as it appears here either.

Linda's Celtic Heart

I received this back from assessment yesterday and I was very pleased with the comments - they were very complimentary. The only criticism was that I carry too much thread on the back (which after looking at a recent piece I did I have to agree with).

So now I might start looking for another course to stitch.

Linda's Celtic Heart

I finished this last night. Here it is:

Now I've just got to post it off and see what the tutor says.

Linda's Celtic Heart

And finally - my class piece which is what I've been concentrating on:

I think after stitching on this a bit that if I do more classes I will leave at least six months between them.

Linda's Celtic Heart

I've started a correspondence course with the American Needlepoint Guild called Linda's Celtic Heart. I haven't got very far yet - I'm really waiting for my new floor stand to arrive so I can stitch it comfortably. But here's the first photo anyway.
