Framing

Today I picked up two of my pieces from the framers. I'm really pleased with the results. As always the colours are off in the photos - I've tried to adjust the colours, although I'm not sure I've really improved them much - so here they are.

Christmas Elf Fairy:

And Linda's Celtic Heart:

The frame on this one is actually green and gold, and the mat isn't as washed out as it appears here either.

Christmas Elf Fairy

I've finished all the plain stitching now - just got the beads to go:

Christmas Elf Fairy

And my latest progress on Christmas Elf Fairy - I haven't been able to stitch much over the last few days so it hasn't got much further:

But still - it's very nearly there - only one more colour of Crescent colours, the Whisper thread and the beads. And the colour that there was supposed to be only just enough of I had no problems with and have heaps left.

Christmas Elf Fairy

Here's my latest progress. After having to rip out the outer edge of the wing and restitch it as I'd managed to miss one thread of fabric near the bottom.

Christmas Elf Fairy

I didn't get to stitch much in the last few days, but I've still made progress. And today I thought I'd scan a picture to give more idea of the colour of the fabric as photos (or at least my photos) always seem to wash it out.

So here it is:

Christmas Elf Fairy

This is coming along quite nicely:

I haven't worked on it as much as I would have liked because we've been moving furniture around for the last couple of days. Still, it's stitching up quite fast.

Christmas Elf Fairy

I started this on Christmas Day after destroying Christmas dinner. Here's the progress so far:

The design is a limited edition kit from Mirabilia and I've changed the fabric from what came in the kit to one I had in my stash. It's called Purple Moon by Dyeing4U. It is a 28ct rather than the 32ct that it came with so the design will be a little larger, and I might be a little tight on a couple of colours, but it should all work out.
