Treasure Map

So I've spent the last two days taking the Treasure Map class from Catherine Jordan. She brought with her a number of her maps that she'd done. I loved them and now want to take her online how-to-make-your-own-map class and do one of New Zealand. One day...

We dyed our main map fabric but only stitched and painted on the companion journal. Here is my progress:

Here is the dyed large piece of fabric - next to the un-dyed journal cover so you can see the difference. If you look really close you can see the fabric gets darker closer to the corner - all part of the colour experience that we were learning about.
